Abuse Victims are Re-traumatized by The Courts, How Can That Change?

Judge Kenneth King was a practicing lawyer from 1980 – 2009. As a lawyer he started off with the state child welfare agency, then onto private practice, both where he represented a lot of children or families involved in abusive or neglectful situations. He then spent three years running a public defender office that represented solely parents or children in child abuse neglect cases. He then taught for 10 years before he was appointed to the bench.

A Woman’s Place is a two part initiative combining story telling elements of narrative film and short documentary clips of real stories to raise awareness about domestic abuse #1StoryAtaTime

We are currently raising funds for production of the feature length fiction film, A Woman’s Place.

Videos in the docu-series are part of an oral history of survivors of domestic abuse, with the purpose of raising awareness. None of these stories have been verified. They have been edited for clarity.
